Graphic adventures are the genre that predominated during a good time in the market reaching to have a "golden epoch" that little by little was fading, consist mainly in solving a series of problems that are presented to us, having an interaction with the environment (finding objects) and talking with various characters, moving our protagonist guiding him in his story.

Its main innovator was the company known as Lucasfilms Games, currently LucasArts, with a game called Maniac Masion, creating a revolution in all his splendor. Their games had a specific pattern of combining humor and adventure, something that would last until the end of their days. His most famous saga and considered to be one of the best games in history is the acclaimed Monkey Island, which featured a polished engine of great calibre and an excellent story with a lot of grace.

In spite of the fact that there were at present titles of great calibre such as the two releases of Syberia, the genre was gradually being lost due to the great competition in the market, with large millionaire budgets, the appearance of new types of games that included parts of this same game such as the RPG, and that the public preferred to play other things, such as real time action and the great importance given to graphics today, leaving aside history. Although the hope is maintained with the new titles that have been released and slowly recovering the genre. Heavy Rain, a game released on 2010 managed to capture all the spotlights and get acclaimed by critics. Other examples might be Beyond: Two Souls and Life Is Strange and her recent prequel.

All of these, choosing to follow a simple linear plot for the player and have a supposed system of "decision making", being the company of Telltale Games one of the most influential in this new style of graphic adventures, taking a big step towards the future. Considering the use of the graphs, these are very well cared for. Being highly acclaimed in everything it does, a small company that gradually made its way to what it is. Still, there are people who disagree with this new direction being taken, and prefer an atmosphere of nostalgia.

Coming into play is the indie side of this world, which is characterized by having an aspect similar to the classic of the golden age and with retro look, something that pleases very much the demands of the old in this, until appearing old known as Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick (members of the deceased LucasFilms) who launched a campaign of Kickstarter to release what would be their new game: Thimbleweed Park, a fully-fledged satire to recent series such as Twin Peaks, X-Files and True Detective. This being the closest thing to date to the first graphic adventures, resurrecting in spirit to Maniac Masion and Monkey Island. We can also find the famous Deponia or Randal's Monday, to name a few others in this style.

Many disparate opinions and people's tantrums have caused gender to break apart and you don't know what is what, people saying that this is better or that this is just better. It only confuses the blessed ones who want to introduce themselves to discover something relatively "new" that has been going on for years. We have adventures for a while, but they are less and less visible. So instead of arguing, we enjoy the little we have left of this beautiful genre, which may not go away and reappear as such a phoenix...
