Hunt: Showdown is a brutal game, but its most brutal feature is the waiting times. Waiting on matchmaking, waiting on the map to load, waiting on the rest of the players to join the game...there's A LOT of waiting involved, in this very early Early Access version of the game. I'm pretty sure these things are gonna get smoothed out as development continues, but for the time being, playing Hunt: Showdown isn't very feasible for someone with anything resembling a life.
