More than a fighting game: Super Smash Bros Brawl Wii (review)

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

I think there is not fighting game that best represents Nintendo (or the Wii) than the Super Smash Bros Brawl, a delivery that even if you're playing alone or with friends the fun is endless with characters you never expected to see fighting with combinations and combos so amazing.

Smash Bros

Since this is and will continue to be one of the Wii games that I enjoy the most (despite being super bad in this type of games), I will talk to you and show you how little it have to envy this delivery to others of the same very popular genre currently.

Super Smash bros Brawl as I mentioned before, is a multiplayer fighting game that integrates a wide range of Nintendo characters and others from other popular video game companies like Sega to create a franchise that provides hours and hours of fun on unique maps and creative, objects that can be used within the battle, interesting series of combos and a great soundtrack that complements everything.

Something I can mention is that you do not need to be an expert in this type of videogames to feel like a champion and enjoy the different characteristics and qualities of the game with those characters that were part of our childhood like Mario, Kirby, Link and others very memorable.

Gameplay

Something incredibly redeemable is that the delivery can be played in a wide variety of ways to make the experience more comfortable depending on the player, being able to use only the Wiimote horizontally (this is how to play), integrate the aforementioned control the Nunchuk, use the classic control or use the control of that memorable console that may be grabbing dust in some cases, the Gamecube.

The amount of characters that this game gives us is very good, each one having their own fighting style, their own powers (if they have them) and charisma without equal; definitely the controls (being totally customizable) allow to take advantage of the potential of each character, being so simple and entertaining that provides that factor named '' addiction ''.

Game system

Donkey Kong

Unlike other games that have a life bar that runs out as they hit the character, in Smash bros Brawl instead of having this, each opponent has a percentage counter that increases as the punches connect with said character.

If so, how does the character die?

The way to defeat the character is to remove it from the map using the different skills we have to our power, of course, this is easier when the counter has a number greater than 60, although it is possible to provide a powerful blow that takes it out without the player can avoid it or that he himself falls off the map if this for example is in the sky or there is a cliff.

Smash ball

This is the most powerful tool or object in the game. Each character in addition to throwing punches and kicks in the same way each has a great power that can only be used with the Smash ball at our disposal.

How is it obtained?

When this ball appears on the map, of course, all the characters and enemies will go for it, the one that provides a good number of hits is the one that keeps it and can use its final power.

Despite being the most fundamental object in the game, this is not the only one that exists, in fact, there is a large amount of gadgets that can be used to cause considerable damage to the opponent (projectiles, pokeballs, bombs, fans, weapons Futuristic), watches that make space slow, among others.

The amount and types of objects that appear on the map is also customizable.

Characters and maps

Something that can be noticed at first glance when we play for the first time is the good amount of characters and maps that we can enjoy and unlock little by little. We can find iconic characters like Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pikachu and others like Mr. Game & Watch, Ness and Lucas.

Characters

In terms of maps, we will find some so unique that beyond becoming a typical game of fights will also be one of platforms that besides worrying about enemies we must also be aware of the interaction that the environment has with us.

Game modes

Like the rest of the game, the modes are not left behind, having a rich amount and options to choose from, two of them are:

Brawl: The main mode of the game, here the number of players, the time of game, the rules and the objects that appear, are completely customizable, being able to establish instead of an estimated time, a limited number in which the character can revive in the Map.

Classic: As the word says, the mode that is never forgotten in a fight delivery, in which a character is chosen and must be fought with an estimated number of enemies to complete. Each phase or battle will be based on a video game in which we will sometimes fight with kirbys, with Mario Bros characters or others who are inside it.

Personal opinion

Despite not being a fan of fighting games, Super Smash Bros Brawl gave me that fresh air I feel when I enjoy a great game and not only for those characters that were an important part of my childhood but for all the modalities and controls incredibly intuitive that he himself has. It is a game that you must indispensably enjoy if you have this console.
