Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor Prophecy Review

Inquisitor Prophecy is the first expansion for Inquisitor Martyr, which is a futuristic ARPG set in Warhammer 40k universe. This is a stand alone expansion so you don't need to own the original title. If you're interested you can check my original review here.

Expansion is bringing a whole new Campaign, new Tech Adept summoning class and game 2.0 overhaul with a whole lot of improvements for existing game. There is a lot to cover and if you are jaded by already established games in the ARPG genre like Path of Exile, Grim Dawn or Diablo 3 you should give this game a go, specially if you like Warhammer 40k universe.

In the story mode you will fight a whole host of monsters and abominations in the shape of Tyranids, Dark Eldar, Nurgle Chaos Marines and many many more. Honestly only three races that are missing in this game are Orks, Tau and Necrons. Lots of purging in the name of the Emperor you will be doing.

New class, new story missions and Inquisitor 2.0 gave us a much needed overhaul of most ingame systems and mechanics that are now actually fun to play and explore.

New class is probably my favorite after trying out the original three classes from the base game. Tech Adept is Adeptus Mechanicus by trade, but he also likes to purge enemies of Imperium of Man by doing important work for the Inquisition in his spare time.

It's a very fun summoning class that was very much missed in the original game. Everything is based around 7 types of Constructs he is able to summon, every one of his constructs has it's own unlocks, abilities and items you will equip them with once you find the right ones.

His whole purpose is to be a support for his robot army by repairing them and by bringing a support fire that adds slows, shocks, knockdowns etc. It is a welcome change of pace this time to smoke a cigar while your minions do your biddings and not getting your hands dirty.

Once you finish your story missions the end game is actually improved a lot since the original game, now we have several new modes to play in. Void Crusade is a new addition that reminds me of Path of Exile map system mixed with Lab. You will essentially have to chose where you want to go and by progressing further enemies are getting stronger and you get better loot rewards.

Ordos missions are specialized for inquisitors who like to pick their favorite enemies, once you specialize in Ordo Malleus, Ordo Xenos and Ordo Hereticus you will get a lot of new store options and extra perks.

Crafting is also overhauled big time and is bringing you an ability to add sockets to items, you can now also add gems and runewords in the shape of psalms in items. New and improved quality of items can be found while purging, like awesome Deamonforged and Archeotech items. Inquisitor Prophecy is now fully fledged and ironed out ARPG, if you buy this for 25$ you will get a nice WH40k package. Score: 85:100.
