Hello to all the steemit community, Once again after so much time, I can bring you a review of a video game that I'm sure many will remember and if you do not know it yet, I invite you to enjoy this post.

Despite the evolution of the video game and its high graphics that pose today, I must say that this video fighting game that I will analyze below is important as I innovate certain features that we see today in fighting games.

for this reason I invite you to read my post and discover how great this video fighting game is.

Development of the video game.

Rival Schools: United by Fate, is a 3d fighting video game created by the Japanese company capcom, this company was created in 1979, this company is responsible for developing and distributing video games.

So Rival Schools came into our hands not only as a video game more of the pile, but also innovated the fighting system as it included elements never seen before in other video games.

It is important to say that Rival Schools: United by Fate went on the market in 1998 in arcades and then released its playstation version months later.

Main story of the video game

In this game the students, teachers and directors of the institutions are fighters with exceptions of some who are not.

The plot of the game placed us in several institutes where pupils were disappearing mysteriously, and the teachers seemed to know something about it.

Because the teachers did not help and seemed suspicious, some students of these institutes decided to investigate for themselves the origin of the attacks and kidnappings.

but each institute had its way of thinking and doing things, therefore fights broke out among the students. Its protagonist is Batsu, from Taiyo High School.

I will limit myself to mentioning some characters as they are many, therefore only the following characters are the most I like to play and for their background story.

These are some institutions with their most representative students in the game.

This is our protagonist, was raised only by his mother who one day disappeared mysteriously while working.

Batsu was very far from home and decides to return to find his missing mother, which is why he enters the Taiyo institution where he teams with Hinata and Kyosuke to solve the mysterious disappearances of the students and their mother.

In the 90's especially at the end of that year, they were the best since many of the games we play today, implement much of the graphic section when we talk about interfaces and mechanics, some games still keep the essence to the minimum of games of the 90s, whether they do it for nostalgia, little budget or just know that to this day is very welcomed by the gamer community.

What I mean is that the 1990s were the "BOOM" of video games and started big fight titles like Street Fighter, Tekken, etc ...

That is why I will show you some interfaces of the game.

Rival schools like other wrestling games have a very lively intro to the 90s style, To me personally I still like this type of cartoons.


Then we have a selection of characters that are currently using other fighting games.


It has screens of diverse loads, since some give advice of combos and illustrations of the personages.


visually the game looked great, since for his time 3d graphics were not so advanced, currently can not compare the graphics with those of the past, but I insist the fighting games of the 90s still still like to many players and, I am included in this list.


Finally after finishing all the battles we have an ending of the characters where they relate their history in the events happened in the schools.


There are many fighting games currently, some known and others that are not so much, each of them with unique features and game modes.

Throughout my life as a player I have tried so many fighting games that I can safely say that the video game "rivals schools" is undoubtedly one of the best, not only for being innovative but also for its mechanics.

Playing Rival schoolds is simple but difficult, I say because to make a super combo you need a lot of practice, you can block any attack, you can rejoin the fight again quickly, you can even heal during the battle thanks to the help of your ally or make a team attack, this will depend on the fellow type.

Rival schools was the first video game of struggle in implementing the attacks in equipment, and called the attention of other games and also began to incorporate this modality.

the modality of game that I change the games of fight is the following one:

The type of team attack depends on the ally you choose and what relationship they both have in the history of the video game.

  • motivational combo (this team attack allows you to fill several skill bars to make more individual special attacks)


  • Combo dynamic attack (this team attack allows you to do a lot of damage to the opponent)


  • Combo healing (this team attack allows you to heal some of the damage)

Rival Schools: United by Fate has an exceptional soundtrack, since its melodies transmit some melancholy but at the same time energetic with a touch of rock, where the values as the honor and the sense of justice prevails in our personages.

We just have to listen to your intro (Atsui Kodou) to realize the sound quality that this game has.

In the 90's, this kind of music was heard not only in videogames but also in Japanese animated series.

The composer and music designer of this video game, called Setsuo Yamamoto is of Japanese origin and is also responsible for composing all the music of the video game megaman X and works for capcom.

He is also responsible for composing and participating in the music creation of approximately 53 video games to date, such as Megaman X (1993), Resident Evil 5 (2009) etc ...

After writing and editing this post I can only say "Thanks" to everyone for their attention and really if you have not played "Rival Schools" you can do it you will not regret it, there are emulators that you can use and run the games perfectly.

So throughout this post in the history section I did my best not to reveal the development of each character within the game, because the game is worth playing and the best way to know its history is playing with fights entertaining with an impeccable soundtrack.

To conclude, this video game is the first of its kind to implement team combos and has a point in its favor to give it a try and play it again and remember that not everything that is old is bad, without more to say I withdraw and I invite you to my next video game post.
