When Nintendo was entering the world of entertainment with its toys, it had a very strong alliance with the SHARP company because it provided the materials and engineering to develop many of these toys, and by entering the world of video games, a person who worked at that company would radically change the future of Nintendo.

This was Masayuki Uemura who worked at SHARP, however, he left his job because the company would move him to another city, Gunpei Yokoi immediately proceeded to hire him to work at Nintendo, his ideas gave rise to many artifacts which gave rise to the foundations of Nintendo as we know it today.

One of the many consoles he created was the Famicom, which was very famous in Japan. Years after it was released, the Famicom Disk System, an additional device that could be added to the Famicom and played video games in Diskette format, was released, thanks to this accessory video games such as The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Bros 2.

However, this product was not as successful as Nintendo had hoped, so the company used its masterminds and close relationship with SHARP to create a Famicom that had the Disk System integrated so that the user could access a single purchase, called the Twin Famicom.

The Twin Famicom was released in mid 1986 by the company SHARP and licensed by Nintendo to replace the Famicom with the Disk System, this product was an exclusive product in Japan because for the West had another project for the type of consumers.

This console had hardware updates that made it really attractive, one of them was the RCA video output for better visual quality on TV, in addition to having a "Mono" audio output, remember that at that time the consoles used the RF connector, also the Twin Famicom included an "Eject" button to remove the cartridges from the top.

Of the rest had all the functions of the previous console, all games were 100% compatible, some gamers indicate that the loading times of the floppies were faster, the important thing is that it gave you a fairly complete experience without the need to have separate items.

If for some reason you had a Famicom and wanted to use the Disk System, the Twin Famicom had an extra port on one side of the Famicom to connect to it, I personally don't see the point in including this feature in the system, but for some reason the developers came up with this strange idea.

If you are one of those gamers who likes to experiment with the consoles of yesteryear and would like to buy a Twin Famicom, you may need to prepare your pockets because their price in different online markets is between 180 and 800 dollars, this is due to the few units sold in those years and additionally because it is a unique product in Japan.

Nintendo has always wanted to innovate with its products throughout its history, even though some of them did not have the success they deserved, we must not let it go beyond the history of videogames, as they provided the foundations and bases to form the gamer world that we know today.
