Why is "Most Wanted" is the best game in "Need for Speed" series?

in #gaming6 years ago

Fast cars, improved in hundreds of ways, both externally and internally, are the hallmark of the Need For Speed series. As for now, 25 (!) Parts of this game have been created for all platforms - including telephones. The last part, or Payback, was good to me, and 2015 was not bad either.

However, none of these parts, like all previous ones, were as great as Most Wanted from 2004. I will try to answer the question why MW is the king of racing games and why no Need for Speed will repeat its success.

Soundtrack

This is one of the elements that can not be forgotten. I played Most Wanted in 2008 and I have to admit that I remember the music of the game to this day. There was even a moment when I played in NFS2015, that I had mute music from the game and switched on the music from MW and honestly, it was better for me :)

The downside of this soundtrack is that ... it is definitely not enough. If we were to release all the songs one by one it would take us a little over an hour, but it is still the best hour you can ever dream of! :) A mix of rock, metal, dubstep and hip hop gives mega fun and improves the atmosphere.

Black List

The black list was something that was missing in NFS 2015, namely - tension and willingness to play. The Black List made us really want to race. For people who have not played in NFS, I will explain what it is - this list consists of 15 places, and each of them has a "boss" or a unique driver with a unique car. In order to race with a given boss, we must have the right number of races to entitle us to this. When we defeat the unique driver we have several cards to choose from, and one of them is the opportunity to win his car. I remember that I was terribly stressed during this draw :)

For sure one of the best motives in racing games, props.

Tuning

Tuning is one of the most interesting things in the MW - there were not many designs and cars in the garage, but nevertheless each car we created was unique. Quite a large number of modifications to the interior made the car go according to our preferences, although let's face it - in the new parts of NFS, tuning is much better.

Every car was different.

Graphic

The graphics in this game was not her strong side, although she did something magical to play, something that made the world really want to visit. There was no daily cycle, i.e. we only traveled during the day, cloudy day. The climate itself was built just by the graphic style, with the nitro acceleration the whole screen smears and we see only red "stripes" or imitation of the rear lights while driving 200km / h.

It was annoying that some of the textures were not very sharp, but it's a game from 2004, you can forgive. New parts of Need For Speed graphically look brilliant and yet they do not have such a great climate as Most Wanted.

World

The world was quite large, but not varied. The map's appearance is very similar to that in NFS 2015.

Most Wanted

2015 Looks similar, right ?

At the end of the words about the driving model and difficulty level. The first one is still very arcaded, but most importantly pleasant and allowing to carry out interesting and relatively smooth maneuvers. The level of Difficulty was somewhat underestimated, to complete 30-40% of the game, but not too demanding later.

Apart from this, its a masterpiece.

For me, the best NFS is probably Underground 2. Partially for the same reason as you love Most Wanted: brilliant soundtrack. I'm listening to it even until now (after a dozen or so years). Fast and lound tracks made races exciting, trance/electronic ones made driving in free run mode enjoyable. I wish I could buy somewhere on Steam NFS U2 or MW, I lost my CDs.
