New Commodore Amiga CD32 Game Coming (Steemit Exclusive Article)

Who is rocking the harder to find than rooster’s teeth Commodore Amiga CD32 console? Probably not many of my friends reading this. That is okay though, the Amiga CD32 is simply an Amiga 1200 without a keyboard and mouse so you can make use of emulators like WinUAE or similar. Okay, now that you are set to play the demo that is available, a new shooter called Alarcity is nearing final release.

This is an overhead shooter featuring, at first what seems to be, basic graphics but once you start playing, you realize there is a ton of animation here. This is another retro platform that I am just “floored” by when I see capable independent developers making the hardware just hum.

Sure, the basic Alarcity game is not all that animated but as I said already, run around, start shooting and taking out the enemy and you will see a lot of animation appear. Enemies don’t simply flicker and fall out of view here. No, they explode in an array of graphical explosions that tell you, yeah that guy is dead.

Alarcity will be available for the Commodore Amiga CD32 console in a few ways. Right now Pixelglass are running pre-sales for a few options (proceeds go to helping make the game better, cover costs for production, etc):

What I like about Alarcity is, well, Pixelglass are doing what Aetherbyte did with their MSX2 game and offering digital copies as well as physical. That is awesome that more developers are recognizing gamers will support buying the ROM file if given the opportunity.
