Super Smash Bros - Legend of the Nintendo 64
Nintendo - who does not know this company? In the past, its games were leading the Polish gaming market mainly due to "Pegasus", the Taiwanese fake of the Japanese Famicon. However, for the West Nintendo supplied its original products, so people had much newer consoles and games. After the success of SNES (the successor of NES), Nintendo worked on a new generation of consoles, which was supposed to change the 3D world pompously. This experience of the Japanese giant together with Silicon Graphics was supposed to provide a new quality of gameplay, and unfortunately it eventually led to a big lapel. A bizarre controller, poor documentation and old cartridge technology has thwarted Nintendo's chances of dominance during the fifth generation of consoles.
However, what destroyed hardware and marketing - games was repairing. It was on this console that the productions were created, which meant that Nintendo 64 was not a complete flop, and Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Goldeneye 007 still have the status of legendary games to this day.
Nintendo 64 has also become home to new productions such as Super Smash Bros. An inconspicuous game created by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory created a cult for an unusual series of brawls.
Super Smash Bros is a crossover of characters from various Nintendo productions, in which our goal is to push the opponent out of the arena. Each damage dealt increases the inertia of the opponent's movements, allowing him to continue to be knocked out of the platform on which the duel is taking place.
In the game we have characters from the worlds: Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, EarthBound, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox or Pokemon - all bloodthirsty opponents.
The gameplay is changed by various amplifiers that appear during combat - numerous items for sowing murder and destruction, or Pokemons ready to help us in the hardships of combat, up to items that heal or modify our abilities.
The final boss is the Master Hand, which is a fictional mystery!
The game does not look very well, very strong components had no chance with low capacity cartridge, which had 64MB.
Ratings on Metacritic were quite high, getting 8.8 from players. However, the revolution in the world of Smash Bros was yet to come, and you will learn about it in the next article about "Super Smash Bros: Melee".
