One of the best 3d platformers ever!!

Aahh Super Mario Galaxy this game is absolutely fantastic and to this day is still one of my favorite games of all time. My first game ever was Super Mario Bros 3 and the first 3d Mario game I ever played was Super Mario 64, but the first 3d Mario game I ever owned was Super Mario Sunshine. Now I played a lot of sunshine but I noticed that it was definitely different from 64 and even the Nintendo DS remake. There were no superpowers, every level was tropical and the missions all had a certain rhythm that felt repetitive.

It is a good 3d Mario game in it’s own right but enter 2006 when I feasted my eyes on super Mario galaxy. I couldn’t believe what I saw .

My first thought was this guy is running around in space? I never thought about that and I still have not seen a 3d platformer play with space the way galaxy does. It doesn’t stop there.

1. Prankster Comets - that change a level depending on the color
2. Speedy Comets - that make you complete a level within a certain time limit
3. Daredevil Comets - which gave the player a 1 hit point life bar.
4. Cosmic Planet- which made the player race against a clone of himself.
5. Fast-Foe Comet- which speeds up all obstacles and enemies in a level
6. Purple Comet - which required the player to collect 100 purple coins sometimes with a time limit.
   All of these comets were random throughout the game and this combined with the return of powers and mind-bending space physics made me feel like
   
   Lol but the game did and still does make me happy when I play it
   
   Almost every level was unique and there was a variety of levels of ice, snow, lava beach, mechanical, toy etc.
   To quote Brandon Jones of Former Gametrailers ”the accessibility, ingenuity, variety, quality and quantity are impeccable the only uncertainty is how much you’ll allow it to take over your life”.

One of the best 3d platformers ever and a stand-alone 3d Mario game. I would highly recommend playing it if you haven’t already.
