Do you buy silver Here?

in #funny4 years ago

Wow I haven't looked at silver in the last couple of days, but I just watched it today, and it is on a tear. Bottomed around 11 and then has shoot back up to 17 area, and is looking to go higher. I am thinking it will at least hit 18 on SLV that is. We shall see I am going to go long, if I get a pull back here. Maybe with all this money we will get to 40 again. That is what happened in 2011 print a ton of money, and watch it all ride up in the end.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Do not count on it

Why magic 8 ball what would you do for a Klondike bar

Maybe, but you likely buy silver for the same reasons you buy bitcoin or gold. And I would imagine bitcoin outperforms them both if they work out.

On that note, silver's chart actually looks pretty similar to that of the S&P, the only difference is that silver didn't fall quite as far on the dip so it is already back to it's previous highs whereas the S&P still is about 8% below them.

Slv hit like 18.5 so I got a little room. But last time we saw a ton of money printed it double 2 years later.

Yea, though I think bitcoin went up like 40x over that same period. :)

40x well it is more like infinity, when you start with something from nothing, isn't nothing the starting point?

No. Bitcoin launched in 09. You were talking about 2011 right?

Bail outs were in 2009 So I was talking from there

From your post...

Regardless the returns are even better for btc if you go back that far. There are multiple charts out there that show the returns in btc when the FED's balance sheet is expanding, and those all point towards that being when btc has seen its best returns.

Personally I'd rather buy bitcoin and stocks. Silver isn't going to offer anything better or different than what those will.

Ya, but it is damn shinny, and has been a historic store of value
