Welcome to another Monday lovely people! We continue with our mission to make your Mondays great by presenting you with amazing projects that deserve your love and support. Today, we will promote to you a project by @celestialcow called Hope & Sustainability for Lombok"

Lombok was hit by a devastating earthquake in July and many homes were destroyed. Those that were not destroy received severe structural damage and became unsafe for people to sleep inside them. There has been plenty of food aid but since the raining season is active, waterproof materials for temporary shelters are needed. Most people rely on tourism for income but tourist attractions are closed down now and they have almost no money. An organic farm could help with food problems and their income.

In order to help with housing problems, tarpaulins are waterproof and one of them in size 10*10 is enough for the needs of one family, it costs 40$. A much better solution would be an Earth Bag home and this project plans to build 3 of them. They are long-term sustainable, safe, and low-cost solutions to housing that are proven to withstand high magnitude earthquakes. The cost for them is around $1500. This project also aims to build a sustainable organic farm with organic, fair trade & sustainable products, giving local people sustainable all year round work. First costs that include a well, a pump, pipings, generator, and a solar panel kit come to 2200$.

The project also has an eco-brick initiative to clean up the plastic problem that is destroying the natural environment and polluting the ocean. With the eco-brick all loose plastic can be stuffed into bottles, the bottles can then be used to build things, even a home. They hope that those eco-bricks will be used to create a structure suitable to be an education center for future generations. They are offering a small donation for filling the bottles of 35 cents since the process is very time-consuming but local children are happy to do it to earn some money and learn the importance of recycling.

The project has 85 backers so far and there is still time for you to become one of them. They have created 6 updates with news and provided information and images of their progress.
