❤️ The Power of Horse Yoga! ❤️
I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and calm. These last couple of weeks, I've been going through a lot of change, and it has been quite stressful. I've been searching for alternative ways to calm the noise in my head. I believe that taking care of your body, mind and soul, will lead to a healthier and happier life.
Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to try out Horse Yoga. My friend Kate, the owner of the non-profit "The Ranch," also provides horse yoga services. Not only does she save animals from slaughter and provide them a forever home, but she has trained her horses to participate in horse yoga! I know what you are thinking... okay... this is a bit different from your usual acroyoga...
This was my first session trying out horse yoga, and I had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be such a magical experience. Never in a million years, did I think I could connect with another animal in that way. I got to do yoga on two different horses, Bella (who was saved from slaughter) and Stevey (who is a mustang, also a rescue).
Just like humans, horses also have chakras. By pressing on each of their chakras, we were able to calm the horse down. In the process, I began to relax and really breath with the horse. This lets the horse know that yoga session has begun, and that we are not asking anything from them, but to stand. During the whole session, both horses were not tided.
First, we started off doing yoga on the ground, so the horse and I could get familiar with one another. Assisted dancer's pose is much easier with a horse buddy to keep you balanced! It allowed me to get a deeper stretch.
Next, I got on the horse to try out different yoga poses. This was my first time being on a horse bareback. I felt must more intimate with my horse because I could hear her breath. In fact, we were able to breath together. It really calmed me, and helped me stay focused and mediate.
This next pose was my favorite. Laying on a mustangs back, was such an incredible experience. Even though it looks like a very vulnerable position, I felt so safe and relaxed. Horses are very sensitive to energy. When you feel good, they do too.
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to experience horse yoga. I've always believed that horses are magical creatures. They have a way of healing others and providing you exactly what you are looking for. Special thanks to Kate for providing such a wonderful service to others. If you get a chance to try horse yoga, I highly recommend it.

Wow, this looks like so much fun ;) I would love to do some stretches with a horse friend as well <3
It’s feels amazing! All that noise in my head, gone!
Go girl!. You can really stretch.
haha thanks!
You are most welcome.
Wow! I do not even know what to say! It looks strange and beautiful! On the one hand, I am against any exploitation of animals, including horse riding, but on the other hand people who saved them need money for their maintenance. I think that using horses for yoga is a very humane act that does not harm the health of horses. I have no doubt that this is a very pleasant procedure for people - I hugged the horses and it was fantastically pleasant! I'm sure that you got great pleasure! 😘😗😙😚🤗🤗🤗
aww yes! It is amazing. Kate houses over 60 animals! Most would have been slaughtered. I got to meet pigs, emus, turtles, cow, goats and horses! It was such an amazing experience. Yes, she is hoping to provide yoga horse services to help raise money to continue to feed her animals. They are a non profit that is privately owned, and most of the funding is self funded. Every bit helps! :)
She should blog about her animals in Steemit. I could support her. 😍😘😗😙🤗🤗
Aww you are so sweet! I love how you care so much about animals. I remember your donation to the elephants! ❤️❤️❤️
Wao...Amazing...
Horses are indeed intelligent creatures...
yes! It was so nice, and much needed.
This looks AMAZING and I must admit it got me a little choked up... I love horses and have ridden my whole life, but haven't really been able to afford it as an adult. I must find somewhere here to do this! At first glance of this post I thought maybe you had given vaulting a try. Horse Yoga is even better! I would agree that laying on a horse's back is incredible... I used to snooze on my mare's back as she grazed in the shade. Divine!
aww yes! It is also quite a workout holding these poses! I woke up sore!
haha awesome horse yoga @karensuestudios!
thank you Future! :)
Much better than goat yoga
Yes. No poop on you! 😂
I have never seen anybody doing acro yoga like you! It looks fun! Awesome, Karen! ;)
Holy cow ( or horse in this case lol) I've never heard of Horse Yoga. But it looks very effective in doing it. Thanks for sharing @karensuestudios
Your horse is thinking , "wtf are you doing on me?"
