Bike gang

Saturday, we hopped on our bikes early and took off. First we headed to the beach boardwalk, peddled almost as far as it takes you, checking out all of the people playing volleyball and enjoying their leisure time. We do this often, almost everyday. Not so much for the exercise but more for the benefits of just being out doors. And hey, when you live at the beach it’s probably a sin to stay inside.

On our way back to the pad, we stopped and sat in the sand for awhile. Letting the vitamin D wash over us, silent in our people gazing, a friend let us know he was almost to our house.

We headed back to pick up the remainder of our bike gang and hit the road once more. Like little kids, we peddled everywhere, and nowhere at the same time. Ending up in downtown, at the same time Comic-Con was taking place, we gawked at the interesting costumes as time continued to pass us by.

Getting thirsty, we pulled over for some cold libations. Have you ever had a turmeric shot? I don’t recommend it, it’s disgusting! Feeling refreshed we consider where to head next.

On the walls of many buildings are beautifully painted murals. That would be our next mission: to travel around and see how much street art we could discover. Our city is rich in creative souls who spend days or nights manifesting colourful contributions to our otherwise mundane lives.

This mural was painted under an overpass at comic cons entrance. So as we take a gander into these eyes, simultaneously, comic con costumes are stimulating our senses.

We headed up the parking lot to the top of the overpass only to unveil this beauty:

You can kind of see the stack of gold coins featured with the dollar bills in the toucans satchel- how cool would it have been to see the Bitcoin symbol within these images…?!?

We continued our adventure, discovering many murals that had gone invisible to us on any other day. We even got to witness a mural in the midst of being created. There were about 5-7 people painting on this enormous wall, just for our viewing pleasure. Around this time my stomach begins to growl so we all B-line to our Favorite falafel joint, The Hip-pie. It was our friends first time having falafel and as expected, was a hit.

All of us stuffed our faces as fast as possible so we could get back out to the water to catch the sunset. Per usual, we were not disappointed. Watching the sun go down was a perfect ending to a perfect day. By the time we got back to the house, all of our legs were exhausted. We each plopped down on a seat and played a Bill Burr stand up.

… I GOTTA SAY IT WAS A GOOD DAY…

You guys seem to know how to have a good (and healthy) time together. It is great that you also a few moment to capture your surroundings. I really like the eyes over the comicon entrance.

Thanks for noticing @pegarissimo. Yeah, the eyes are quite beautiful. We have so much street art in our city… such talent just saturated in our area that it would be a shame to not admire all of it. Plus, doing so is free! :). Always appreciate you stopping by my friend.

Gorgeous, the way you write! All that’s missing is a synchronized kite flying show.

Haha… those kites are bad ass! I bet they’re out there today with how windy it is…
