We have hedgehodges, many, but you rarely see them and mostly in the evenimg. They don't eat from the vegetable garden or steal eggs. They fimd worms and if you want to feed them cat food is good.
I believe this year the dogs killed over 10. They show up when it's dark and tried to drink out of their water bowls.
Dogs.... Bad boys.. I haven't seen any here in North Florida, but that doesn't mean they aren't here. Everyone's here. Armadillos are big problem. Great neighbor trapped most of them. It's illegal to relocate them in Florida. He ended up shooting them. Don't like to kill anything.. but the armadillos are very destructive to support structures. They borough underneath and weaken buildings.
I wonder why the population increases. Do they belong there from origin?
I heard our new plague (in the cities) will be rats. They increase fast and the reason is the left overs from fast food restaurants + trash (saw them at the trash cans at parking lots at night as well).
Next to that the pigeons are a burden. Last year a hunter killed them, this year? I should have emptied the nest. They breed the entire year. It gets messy, poop everywhere not to mention the noise and the fruits they eat. ☹️
