It was my punishment at secondary school. Learning the dictionary by head. I was good at it and the principal hated it (read: hated me).

What I hate is how the meaning of words has changed and is abused, how people are brainwashed and too lazy to search for the meaning which involves feelings as well.

Just like you I (and so do my children) check it daily several times.
