Geese
Flying geese. Every year I see them going, coming and going. The geese are leaving for warmer places because winter is coming. Geese are migratory birds.
The first geese I remember are my grandfather's. Geese that could no longer fly but were good as guards better than dogs.
Flying geese was also an organisation that raised money for charity in Africa. They had a few minutes of airtime on television and then just reported how much money the flying geese had raised that week and concluded by saying: the flying geese fly on.
Maybe the flying geese are flying on but what have they achieved? After 50 years, the result is pitifully low. The flying geese always come back just like the real geese. Never is it enough, never is anything taught and built up. After more than a hundred years, the needy still cannot do anything themselves. When that is the case and flying geese only learn that they will fly back full-fledged and can be shot then it is time to stop flying.
I saw a flock of geese returning this week and thought: the flying geese won't fly any further. They have no business in war zones, hopefully winter will not be too bad.
