As She Swung Through The Air
As the air wooshed by her, she knew she would always love being high above everyone else. Living the circus life was a generational thing, her father taught her, his father before him, his father before him and so on ...
She never understood the feeling within her to be up so high, but the need to fly was in her bones. It was a feeling of pure freedom.
After her father died from that terrible fall last winter she never thought she'd be able to get up there again, but she did.
On the day of her return the entire audience clapped for her, the first standing ovation that brought her to tears.
They say the life of a trapeze artist is like living amongst that angels, and most days she felt that way.
Life on the road didn't afford much in the way of a family, but she hoped she'd meet someone someday to carry on the family tradition.
The other day she met someone right after practice, he was a visitor from the area he followed her out that night and she agreed to dinner. He seemed okay, but that was the life of hopping from one town to another.
He tried calling her a few times, but she didn't heave the heart to return the sentiment. Maybe someday, for now it was her and her swing ... flying high in the air.

I love that feeling of freedom on a swing too, but I think i’ll Stay off the trapeze. You captured the feeling though perfectly
