Snacks...Snax?
This is pretty much the craze now...I guess I met quite a number of them on my #powerhousecreatives feed within the past few days. Another crypto project. What's special, again?
Well..probably, edible?
Be rewarded for social activity
That's what their home page says. Big simple straightforward title that gets nicely aligned into the eyes the moment you land on it. Somehow reminds me of how Steemit has on their site if you visit it without an account - "Get paid for good content". It kinda pushes me off at first, with the feeling of "here's another token that does something Steem already does", but then followed up with a "wait a minute..."
It actually looks like an interesting project. Well, not now, but I can expect things in the future.
Let's just say...individual small streamers or video uploaders. The ones that are good enough to have some sort of audience and interaction on the platform, but are way too far from reaching payout thresholds or monetization chances. Of course, they could all jump over to Steem (and potentially lose all their current audiences), but Snax can give a decent alternative. It's like adding a decentralized payout system to current social media platforms. No one needs to know how it works, no additional rules added, the publisher just gets rewarded for producing things they love and maintain their sweet interactions with their fans. Perfectly painless for everyone involved.
Yes, just take your pile.
Happy for everyone. Maybe, except for the social media platform itself, but they'll learn how to adapt. Just let them be.
I'm a little bit surprised that it will land on Steem (since we are already decentralized and we have our own rewards system that somehow works), but there's nothing to complain about. Took a quick spin on their blog post for it, and a bolded quote took my attention for some while...
“Even if you’re not considered a whale on Steem, you can still gain a decent reward.”
Well, well...that hits the point.
There's a reason why I said "our own rewards system that somehow works". For quite an amount of people reading this, their post's payout is quite a hit or miss - they might be raking up interaction with their fellow community members, but they won't be pushing much payout to them if they aren't whales. At the same time, it is totally possible to create some wholeheartedly underwhelming content and at the same time have it get a decent payout by upvoting it with their own Steem Power if they have enough - it's just not 100% correct at the moment. Code-powered voting also exists, which allows space for more questions.
Many asked, more unsolved.
Like, what's going on here?
Of course, there's no way Snax could fix that for us. Like I said, no additional rules on the platform. It isn't going to change anything critical, but it looks like a token that can give minnows that really tried to build relationships and interactions a solution. That somehow works, I don't know. It's still very new, and no one really knows how it is going to cause a long term impact.
But hey, like I said, nothing much to complain. It's free to join after all. You aren't scammed yet.
I can't really imagine the possibilities this new blockchain will bring. It looks exploitable (I haven't really read their whitepaper so feel free to prove me wrong), might go wrong with all the current community-founded or buy-able votes available on Steem at the moment (doubling or even tripling up rewards), might really be giving rewards properly, I don't know. Time will tell, and we'll just...watch.
This is going to be a crazy ride.
Also, give my Twitter account some love. It's connected to Snax as well :>
Before I forget - see the tag? Yes.
I want to link my Steem account with my account on Snax blockchain using https://snax.one
Please, create Snax account for me!

(Will make a new authentication post if for whatever reason this one fails, lol.)
That's all for now then! See you around.
Do take the snacks if you feel like to, it's free :>

Haha... another Snax! I'm a little dubious about this one... I don't see how the economic loop closes up... why would people buy Snax? and if they don't, what is the value of it then....
It's kinda like Steem without blockchain control for me... buying is only for tipping the producers, I guess? I'm kinda dubious on this one too to be honest, but there seems to be nothing to lose...
Yeah... although, I wasn't keen on installing an extension... so, I might just give it a miss!
Thanks for supporting and promoting Snax. And please do not forget to vote your preferred Snax Block Producers.
BP: sweden is also one of the top BP for Snax.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think just yet. I mean, I love a good snack, but Snax? Nice to see you have actually looked into it a little bit. I've seen a lot of the link up posts, but this is the first time I've actually read anything about it. I'll be curious to see where it goes. I suppose there's no harm in signing up, as you said, but I might just wait to see what tangible benefits there really are before I do. ;)
Possibly just more tokens for you to passively earn that you can use to tip other content creators on other social media :) at least that's what I think.
Now I'm curious if they will actually hit decent adoption for it to actually be useful, but let's see.
All of the best to you in this venture and let us know how it goes!
Blessings!
Sure! Will update if I get something from it :P
It is nice that is free to join, however, the issue for someone like me is time. It is hard to devote to 2 different projects.
True, although I don't think that I will need to pay attention to this one, since it's just like an overlay...you shouldn't need to do anything to make it work.
Still, because it's still very new, we'll see... many things are unknown yet.
