Cool Beans, a Freewrite
It is the science of repetitive images. We have been hypnotized. And it would do well for more of us to see that.
Stories about the erudite bums that suddenly appeared in key spots all over NYC had been front page news for a week now. The bums were drawing larger and larger crowds, entertainment being so scarce these days.
"Cool BEANS!!!" I heard one person exclaim, eager for the performance to begin. His attention, and mine, and that of everyone crowded around the city-wide bums, focused on the spoken words, each listener an epiphany.

The line drawn is only as straight
as the mind holding the pencil
in its maw or its craw
or preferably its loving hands
Let your hands hold the love we have been denied
Let your enslavement end
It is too late to save everyone
but not too late to save yourself
Shed the delusions you have been fed
