Individual freedom

Sometimes a simple quote has a meaning on many levels. How do others react when we express our individualism? How do we react towards other peoples expression of freedom?

The photo is taken is taken at Tanja Schlander's exhibition at the Oslo Kunstforening. The concept of the exhibition is gender issues but I think the quoted phrase is something worth observing in other areas of everyday life such religion, economy, politics, nutrition and much more..

I assume that "they" from this quote refers to the so called leaders of our society, the ones that advocate freedom but do whatever is possible to eradicate it. See 9/11, false terrorism, all sort of media manipulation and so on. All they need is some violent events to enforce all sort of laws that are having the only purpose to take away that freedom and to enslave us.

The way i read it is that 'they' means society, it means us. You could say it is a call to self reflection. Can we tolerate real freedom? Are we brave enough to live free?
