Exploring Fractals: Golden Meteor
Finally got to do some Mandelbulb rendering again.
I just tweaked a Bet1h522 formular and mostly played with some basic settings like:
- DE stop
- lighting
- dynamic fog
- transparency
- reflections
I am planning on some bigger animations in the future.
The good thing is, it only uses the CPU cores, so mining is still possible while rendering some great high-resolution project.
Here are some different takes on the same base-fractal.
I used 4x anti-aliasing for a smoother image.
This is the same fractal with a minor change.
And the same again with major parameter changes.
And here is a closeup of the eye of the fractal-storm:
Let's take a look around this shiny little meteor:
And here a warp of the second variation. I actually like it a lot, might make a high res version:
To be continued...

High res animation coming soon.

oooh nice teaser.. I like to see that engulfing feeling, its immersive and beautiful
That's very well done... Awesome.. Get your creativity jumping..
Yeah, creativity in every day aspects! Using it for cooking is great for example.
I love cooking.. hahah
whoa this is pretty awesome man
Glad you like it!.
I am working on a pretty complex and awesome animation right now.
Getting the settings right is one thing, rendering it in good quality and resolution an other. May take days... weeks probably.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you are making here! What program do you use for these btw?
Thanks!
I use mandelbulb3d, highly recommend it.
