Jones Is A Red Till 2023

Manchester United defender, Phil Jones has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club till at least 2023.

The 26-year old who is one of the eleven players whose contracts were set to expire next summer has rededicated his future to the club and can now focus on the long term plans.

Having endured series of injuries, Jones played little part earlier in this campaign under Jose Mourinho making just three appearances.

He has however had a good time after recovering from injury and has enjoyed the goodwill of the change in the dressing room since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Featuring in all 10 games under Solskjaer, Jones has forced his way back into the team he joined in 2011, helping the team to four clean sheets in 9 victories and 1 draw.

His new contract which was agreed on fresh terms also includes an option of a 12-month extension at the expiration.

During the season, he has also already clicked his 200th appearance for the club.
