The Premier League is over. Chelsea is champions. Manchester United is 6th again. Arsenal will not feature in next campaign of Champions League, for the first time in 18 years I believe it is.

Chelsea - The winners

I believe that when Chelsea bought Kanté, and brought in Conte they bought a Championship. I have to be honest, I didn't believe that before the season. The awakening of the old Hazard also had huge influence in this years Premier League season.

Makélélé. I have always loved that name. Ma-ké-lé-lé, was one of Chelseas all time greatest defensive midfielders. Now that has changed. The stats above is completely crazy. 3,7 interceptions pr. game, and 2.9 tackles pr game is nuts. This shows that there is no doubt Kanté played a major this year.

What really changed the whole thing is not Kanté though. Neither is it Hazard, Costa or Courtois. It's Conte.
Chelsea didn't start the season aswell as they ended it. After a draw against Swansea, a loss to Liverpool and then the loss against Arsenal. The loss against Arsenal changed the whole thing.

From 4-5-1 to 3-4-3

When they changed the lineup, the whole thing changed. The team played well, amazing to be honest. They won 13 Premier League matches in a row, before losing to Tottenham. The three at the back makes a team more calm because they know they always have three at the back. Also when they are not in possesion the wingbacks will drop low, making the lineup a 5-2-3, maybe a 5-4-1. By this formation you add a lot more stability to your team, while still having a lot of attacking power. We often see teams who use this formation to play some sort of counter attack soccer. Chelsea is the perfect example of that.

If I should give someone at Chelsea the most credit, then it would be Conte. Conte has made amazing results with Chelsea. The abscent of Champions League might have played a part in it, but no matter what, 93 points in the Premier League is well done!

What will next season look like for Chelsea F.C?

It is almost certain that Diego Costa will leave the team, so they have to bring in a new top striker. Other than that it written in a lot of newspapers that Hazard might be leaving. Real Madrid as the most likely destination. With Gareth Bale rumoured to leave, it would make sense. If Chelsea can keep the back three, Courtois, Kanté and Hazard, then they will be a strong contender next year aswell.
