Top 7 Vegan Savoury Meals! Ideas & Inspiration by the Vegan Steemit Community!

in #food6 years ago (edited)

Hi dear friends! There are so many talented chefs here on Steemit, and many new are coming every week. Have you noticed that the vegan community really is growing right now? I couldnt be happier about that, and thats why I thought why not to share some of the best vegan savoury meals and recipes today!

Its weekend, and many of us are having guests over for dinner, and we want to make our sunday lunch to something special. We all need some inspiration sometimes (me included), so here are the top 7 savoury meal ideas of the week!

Sit back and enjoy!

1. @isshappy

What about a quick and healthy bolognese sauce with pasta? We all love pasta right, and if we dont want to spend the whole day in the kitchen, this one is the easiest meal to prepare! This recipe takes only 20 minutes to prepare, is super yummy and delicious, and also very healthy (with cauliflower)! Here you can find Sofia´s vegan bolognese sauce recipe!

Thank you Sofia @isshappy for your recipe! You really shows us how great and tasty vegan food can be!

2. @carolynstahl

Lentils is something most of us have at home, and if you are like me, you probably try to include legumes in your meals every day, they contain a lot of protein, iron and are good carbs, even children use to love them. But I have never tried to make Spicy Vegan Lentil Kebabs! So I was amazed by this delicious idea and recipe by Carolyn this week. Give it a try, I will do that for sure!

Thank you dear Carolyn @carolynstahl for giving us new ideas how to use lentils!

3. @celestialcow

Now its time for a fancy and more advanced meal idea and recipe! What about caviar crepes with Indian Spiced Patties and a spicy dip? Sounds exciting? Thats exactly what it is! The main ingredient is Caviar Lentils! They look almost like caviar, small and black lentils, very high in protein and common in Indian recipes.
This is a meal that takes some more preparation time, but totally worth it. The result is stunning and beautiful. As all recipes by @celestialcow , this one is also very healthy and only contains wholefoods.
Interested? Check out the recipe!

Thank you @celestialcow for showing and teaching us about healthy food!

4. @street.yoga

Have you ever tried eating ramson? Do you know what it is? If not, check out Miron´s Ramson Soup Recipe! I was so inspired by this recipe and idea, that I went straight to the forest today, and picked some ramson myself and made a spicy ramson pesto out of it! Ramson taste like garlic somehow, but changes when you sauté it. You can use it as spinach or any spicy herb. In Europe ramson is really in season right now, and I love the fact that you can pick it by yourself in the woods.

Thanks to @street.yoga for this wonderful idea and perfect spring soup to refill our energy with fresh nutrients.

5. @nicoleslife

Nicole have showed a whole new side of her talents this week, how to cook fantastic food and to take amazing poctures that makes me drool! One recipe she shared this week was her Veggie enchilada, and I immediately knew I would love this. This recipe is actually quite simple to prepare and I am sure it tastes like heaven.

Thank you Nicole @nicoleslife for sharing awesome recipes this week, and for showing us, that we always can develop our self to the next level.

6. @lenasveganliving

Our Steemit master chef Lena is one of most talented and kindest persons I have got to know through Steemit. Lena made this lovely Ramen Buddha Bowl and shared her recipe. This recipe and bowl has everything you could possible ask for: Ramen Noodles, Tempeh, Caramelized Eggplant and Miso Dressing. If you know what I mean, be sure to try this one for your special lunch or dinner tomorrow!

Thank you Lena @lenasveganliving for building and supporting this vegan community, without you here, Steemit would not be the same!

7. @plantstoplanks

We continue with the Buddha Bowl theme, because Katie also made a great and appetizing bowl filled with the most nourishing and healthy wholefoods possible, and topped with a dressing made of herbs and avocado.
The great thing about Buddha Bowls is that you can vary the ingrediens endlessly. Its usually a mixture of raw and cooked wholefoods, and it is always a great idea to serve the bowl with an exquisit dressing or sauce.
Do you want to try Katie´s Garden Fresh Dressing? Here is the recipe!

Thank you Katie @plantstoplanks for making the world a healthier place with your recipes and engagement!

Now its your turn! Let us know in the comments which one you will try out, or if you have any other recipe and idea you want to share with the Steemit Food Community!

Enjoy your sunday and the luscious food you will prepare!

So making those kebabs. they look amazing! A great share of yummy looking foods!

What a great choice!!

I might try the caviar lentil crepes from @celestialcow, the name for sure sounds fancy.

I've mistaken them for urad, black mung or black matpe which you find in indian shops, they seem to be different.

Oh, I didnt know that, they are great, I think they are also quite similar to beluga lentils? Thanks for your great ramson soup recipe, I went to a place nearby today to get some myself;)

I'm sorry caviar lentils, also known as beluga lentils seem to be different, they dont have that white stripe, are flatter and are from the lens family while those i described are from the vigna family and rounder.

I'm glad i could inspire you to go for a walk, I wish I would do that more often, I go mushrooming once in a while but there is so much more to harvest in the wild you can use in the kitchen.

Yes thats true! I would love to do that more often, too! My little boy loves it!

Just hunt him and grab anything on the way :)

YUM, what a great post! I love both of those lentil recipes -- they’re such a delicious and versatile food. See you around. <3
