No es sorpresa que las personas degusten la amplia gastronomía basada en productos picantes ya sea en México o en algún país de Sudamérica. Hoy les compartiré algunos consejos sobre el consumo de chiles y los beneficios de consumirlos. En lo particular, no me es posible imaginar algunas comidas sin picante, tales como tacos, pozole y ceviche. Pero, ¿Qué es lo que contienen los chiles?

Today I will share some tips on the consumption of chilies and the benefits of consuming them. In particular, I can not imagine some foods without spicy, such as tacos, pozole, and ceviche. But, what does the chili peppers contain?

Los chiles contienen moléculas de capsaicina que son las que provocan esa sensación que quema en los labios y boca cuando las consumimos, entre más picoso este el chile mayor concentración de capsaicina contiene. Entre sus propiedades destacan el poder antiinflamatorio, analgésico y anticancerígeno.

Hechos:

1. Los chiles contienen de 2 a 3 veces más vitamina C que los limones.
2. El consumo de chiles no daña el estómago.
3. El agua no quita la sensación picante, los lácteos sí (prueba tomar alguna bebida con leche).
4. Si quieres sazonar tus platillos con chiles pero que estos no sean picosos, tienes que remover con cuidado todas semillas y las venas como se muestra en la fotografía.

The chilies contain capsaicin molecules that are the ones that provoke that burning sensation in the lips and mouth when we consume them, the more spicy the chili, the higher concentration of capsaicin it contains. Its outstanding properties include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-cancer.

  1. Chilies contain 2 to 3 times more vitamin C than lemons.
  2. The consumption of natural chili peppers does not harm the stomach.
  3. The water does not calm the burning sensation, the milk ones do (try to drink some milk).
  4. If you want to season your dishes with chilies but they are not spicy, you have to carefully remove all seeds and veins as shown in the picture.

Los beneficios de consumir capsaicina son:

1. Fortalecerás tú sistema inmunológico.
2. La capsaicina es un anticancerígeno. Se ha establecido que el consumo diario de capsaicina previene algunos tipos de cáncer.
3. Quemarás calorías. La capsaicina es un termogénico que eleva la actividad metabólica, ayudando así al cuerpo a quemar calorías.
4. Favorecerás una mejor circulación de la sangre.
5. La capsaicina es un potente anti-inflamatorio apto para aliviar dolores musculares y reumáticos.
6. Prevendrás el envejecimiento. Los chiles tienen altas concentraciones de antioxidantes: betacarotenos y flavonoides que neutralizan los radicales libres.

The benefits of consuming capsaicin are:

  1. You will strengthen your immune system.
  2. Capsaicin is an anticancer agent. It has been established that daily consumption of capsaicin prevents some types of cancer.
  3. You will burn calories. Capsaicin is thermogenic and elevates the metabolic activity. Thus, it helps the body burn calories.
  4. You will enhance the blood circulation.
  5. Capsaicin is a potent anti-inflammatory capable of relieving muscle and rheumatic pain.
  6. You will prevent aging. Chilies have high concentrations of antioxidants: beta carotene and flavonoids that neutralize free radicals.

Recuerda que si tienes alguna enfermedad en el aparato digestivo NO se recomienda consumir picante, ya que esto puede agravar el problema. Pero si tienes un estómago sano es momento de deleitarse con el sabor de platillos picantes. Con esto, le ayudaras a tu salud y evitaras muchas enfermedades.
