Did you know that sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine?

in #food6 years ago (edited)

Some people know that some people do not know. However, even if you know it is hard to deal with the sugar cravings even if you struggle with sweet tooth, like your cake, etc. Unfortunately We are looking at this phenomenon with ignorance to start with and underestimating the capability of sugar, which should be more than less classified as toxic or poison substance to start with.

Dr Mark Hyman argued that 'Sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine. And the most interesting is one fact, while heroin and cocaine activate only one spot of the pleasure in the brain, sugar lights up the brain like a pinball machine'.

This video will sort out your illusion in terms of sweet sugar. The truth is rather bitter and without any doubts difficult to ignore. I personally think it is time to stop the ignorance as well as the silence.

My biggest concerns however is related to children and their diets, and badly parents are brain washed on daily basis in order to fulfill expectations of sweet childhood and make children sugar addict! Giving them one of the worst possible start into live. Yes. I must kind of congratulate myself as well for being effectively brainwashed by media, social media, everything really. However it is great time when you finally can see the reality how it is and make your own decisions based on your own analytical thoughts not following the masses.

I did my homework in this subject so indeed I am more than happy to have sugar and sweeteners free house and I am absolutely confident with saying that it is great for my own and for my children health. Everyone are adult and they will make their own decision. Mine is based on my personal experience and indeed is about making my life much more healthier option for myself and for my children.

Here is a very interesting list of how sugar effecting your body, unfortunately does not look sweet and innocent:

  • Suppresses immunity
  • Speeds up aging process
  • Disturb mineral balance
  • Rises cholesterol and triglyceride
  • Hyperglycemia and diabetes
  • Increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease
  • Tooth decay
  • Weight gain / obesity
  • Yeast infection/ candidiasis
  • Kidney disease
  • Hyperactivity
  • Depression / anxiety
  • Several types of cancer
  • Weakened eyesight
  • Osteoporosis
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Crohn's disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Asthma
  • Arthritis
  • Gall stones
  • Kidney stones
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Appendicitis
  • Multiple sclerosis exacerbation
  • Decreased growth hormone
  • Emphysema
  • Fatty liver
  • Atherosclerosis
  • Constipation
  • Fluid retention
  • Headache / Migraine
    and list goes on....

It is very important to understand that human body ca not handle sugar at all. If you have dog, cat, rat, rabbit you know they are not allow to have sweets, for the same simple reason why human can't deal with sugar as it is toxic, however human body us great with compensating and compromising, something for something.

I know this is not sweet truth about sugar, it is rather bitter. I hope this will help you to face your sugar addiction.

Lots of love
from Margo :)

flour and salt other than sugar should be little to be healthy in our lives.

We do not need gluten in Our bodies, as is creating significant struggles for Our body to digest especially taking into consideration fact that the grains are sprayed with chemicals and this is the biggest issue for Our bodies to deal with. Salt is important but need to remember to use salt with minerals as the salt is essential for the correct function of the body as a whole, but the white table salt is not the best.
