Sunday Cook #22 - Baba de camelo (Camel's drool or camel's spit ) - Typical Portuguese sweet

in #food7 years ago

Hello fellow Steemians!!

Hope you all had a cool and sweet easter holidays!

This weekend I hadn't much time, as I had to travel. But at least I prepared a sweet for our easter celebration (Sunday lunch) and that I'm pleasant to share with you all!

I'm a huge fan of chocolate mousse (as you might recall), but my people (close family) love this 'Camel's drool' sweet (weird name, I know). I searched a little about this name and found the following story:

It seems there was a lady, Mrs. Valentina, that had last minute visits and she decided to improvise a quick dessert. The recipe yielded little, and scared it wasn't enough for all the guests, she decided to call the dessert 'Camel's drool". As you may imagine, there were few who dared to try the dessert with such a strange name ... but who risked...didn't regret :)

Camel’s drool is a typical Portuguese sweet very tasty and easy to prepare!! (Awesome!!)

As the last time I cooked it was for my mother's bday in 2016 (more than a year ago), it was time to prepare it again!!

This Sunday I cooked

You'll find a creamy texture that will delight everyone who tastes it!!

Despite its unappealing name, this is one of those times when being adventurous will actually result in a pleasant outcome!

Hope you enjoyed it!!

I will come back with another Sunday cook delicious :D Stay tuned!!

What is Sunday Cook?!

These Sunday Cook project began with a strong will to contribute to Steemit with my personal view of Portuguese cuisine. I really believe we have plenty of good food. I'm not a professional or nothing similar, but I can assure that I'll do my best! On Sundays, I like to prepare more elaborate and delicious food. It requires time and patient. Usually, I cook some traditional Portuguese food, or at least with Portuguese inspiration :) I try to do it in a healthier way, using the minimum fat as possible, and normally I pick some recipe and transform it. During the week I don't like to spend much time cooking (no time at all), that's why I get totally motivated to cook on Sundays!!
