Nut-and-Raisin Spread; A Quick and Easy Recipe
Ingredients:
1 medium orange, quartered and seeded
1 cup pecans
1 15-ounce carton (2 and 1/2 cups)
3/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 sliced apples and/or pears
Procedure:
- In food processor bowl, combine quartered orange and nuts.
- Cover and process with on/off turns till finely chopped.
- Add half of the raisins and all of the mayonnaise or salad dressing.
- Cover and process till raisins are chopped.
- Add remaining raisins. Cover and process till chopped.
- Transfer spread mixture to a covered container.
- Store, tightly covered, in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks. Or, seal, label, and freeze up to 2 months.
- To serve, spread on sliced apples or pears.
- Makes 3 and 1/2 cups.
*NOTE: If you don't have a food processor, run all the ingredients except mayonnaise or salad dressing through the fine plate of a food grinder. Stir in mayonnaise or salad dressing.
