#Elaboration of the Cazabe#
The cazabe is an unleavened, flat, round and crunchy form based on cassava flour of pre-Columbian origin elaborated mainly by indigenous communities of the Caribbean in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Haiti; Colombia venezuela; Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands and Lesser Antilles.

In Venezuela, the Ye-Kuana, Kari-ña, Yanomami, Piaroa and Wuarao indigenous ethnic groups continue to elaborate it in a traditional way and it continues to be a staple food.
In order to elaborate casabe, the natives harvest the yucca in their conucos, after removing the shell, it is washed, then scratched, and pressed in an instrument made from palm leaves called "Sebucan" to extract all the water.
The product after it leaves the press is dried to obtain the yucca flour that later and cooked in plates with fire made of firewood giving it a round shape.
Casabe is a traditional food in Venezuela and it is common to consume it smeared with different types of dips or as a side dish of soups and as a bread or a cookie.

Muy buena tu publicación, soy venezolano y el casabe se ha convertido en un excelente sustituto del pan. En mi caso vivo en zona costera, específicamente en Carúpano, Edo. Sucre, y en nuestro caso el casabe junto a la Sardina han sido el plato predilecto en medio de la crisis que estamos atravesando.
Gracias, yo también soy Venezolana y vivo en Puerto la cruz. Es cierto el cazabe en una gran alternativa diaria y no solo de consumo ocasional cono era antes. Muy pocas personas en las ciudades grandes consumían cazabe y muchos jóvenes desconocían su existencia. Hoy es un alimento muy común en la mayoría de los hogares venezolanos.
