The BEST Vegan Cinnamon Rolls

Hey foodies!

Today, I'll show you my favorite vegan cinnamon roll recipe of all times. Trust me, they are to die for and you won't miss any animal products. I hope you give them a try. :-)

Keep in mind that although these cinnamon rolls are vegan, you have should keep your consumption of them in moderation. But what would life be without cinnamon rolls? Enjoy them once in a while with your family and friends and life is complete. ;-)

Vegan Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

Yeast dough:

1 c (240 ml) unsweetend soy milk
1 package of dry yeast
1 c (250 g) light brown sugar
5 c (620 g) all purpose flour
2 tsp egg substitute (e.g. "No Egg") with 4 tbsp water
1 tsp salt
1/3 c (70 g) vegan margarine

Filling:

1/3 c (70 g) vegan margarine
3/4 c (150 g) dark brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Lightly warm up unsweetened soy milk with a little bit of the light brown sugar and add the yeast. Let it do its thing for 10 minutes.
  2. For the yeast dough simply combine all the ingredients and mix them together. Then leave it covered for one hour in a warm place to rise. You should end up with a dough that has doubled in size.
  3. Roll the dough on a floured surface in a rectangular shape and a half inch (1 cm) thick. Spread the dough with the vegan margarine and sprinkle on the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll in width and cut into 12 rolls of the same size. Place in a 10x14 inch (24x35 cm) baking dish and leave covered for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C) and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until slightly golden brown.

If you want to, you can whip up a vegan cream cheese frosting, to take these already delicious vegan cinnamon rolls to the next level. ;-)

Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

1/3 c (55 g) vegan margarine
1/2 c (115 g) vegan cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 c (315 g) powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Mix up vegan margarine and vegan cream cheese at room temperature. Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar and mix to a smooth frosting.
  2. Spread the frosting onto the slightly cooled cinnamon rolls.

Yes, there's a reason why there exists no picture of these cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting. It's simple: there are more photogenic without it. :-D

Yes and also with ground flax seeds. :-)

I have a bag with chia and flax seed mixed together and it's my favorite thing to use! 😄
