Follow Friday (on Saturday) - Steemies You Just Have to Follow!

in #followfriday5 years ago

I know there's been some sort of event going on this week in Poland, Steemiefester or something like that, but a week ago, a huge Steem event in Nigeria ended and todays #followfriday will be another community special, this time dedicated to some great mates I have over there in the Nigerian Community.

Steemit in Nigeria 2, or SIN2 as its called ( love the name as it conjures up all sorts of images of naughtiness!), took place in Abuja, Nigeria between October 30th and November 4th and by the looks from the posts was a great success although sadly didn't seem to get too much exposure in the wider Steem community which is a bit sad.

So, first up is @ehiboss who is the big boss of the brilliant community DApp @dlike. He writes on a whole range of subjects and is an amazing curator and all round top bloke. Here is his very humble and gratitude laden post with a few pictures of SIN2 entitled SIN2: An Appreciation story
Go and say hi and browse his stuff, he is very readable!

@nigerian-yogagal is the crew's resident Yoga teacher, and led some very tiring yoga classes which, if you look at the photos appeared to show everyone laying down in a tennis court! Her SIN2 post, My SIN2 Experience has loads of photos of the delegates and some amazing smiles, so you can really get to know some new people if you follow all the links. Just looking at her yoga-themed posts makes my legs ache but if you're more supple than me. get over there and show her some support!

Next up is @mediahousent who I have come across from @dlike where he is a moderator. He is a passionate advocate of blockchain technology and especially Steem in Africa and is a thoroughly nice bloke from what I know of him. He has produced a great video and some photos in his SIN2 Vlog post and the rest of his blog is well worth a visit to see what's going on in the African communities and how Steem has the potential to empower people for the betterment of the whole of Africa.

@kweenzykruzy has posted much in the last few months which is a shame as her SIN2 post, More of the SIN2 Experience is possibly the most infectious smiley post I've read in a while and again has a load of photos. Hopefully, if loads of people pop over and say "hi", it might encourage her to get back to blogging and posting more frequently!

Within all the above posts are tags for a whole load of the Nigerian Steem crew and it would be really nice if the wider Steem community could go over and have a read and say hello to this close-knit community and create some ties or take a look at the @wafrica feed. Many of these girls and guys don't seem to get the rewards and upvotes they deserve for their hard work. I would love to see Steemfest4 held in Africa or Asia next year for these are huge communities and contain many people that Blockchain technology is perfect to help towards a better future.

On a more personal note, I've been very lucky this week and received some overwhelming upvotes from @curie and from @c-squared. Better than the financial value of the reward was the engagement it brought me. I've met some brilliant and very talented people who commented on the post, again I say, the engagement is priceless for me.
Thank-you

That's it, back to suffering from FOMO as all the Steemefest posts flow through my feed and I wish everyone a wonderful, safe and happy weekend :-)

Thanks for dropping by. Your Upvotes and Resteems are gratefully received but your comments and engagement are truly appreciated. Let's keep up the debate. Thank you

Wow.... So grateful for your kind words and recommendation.
We hope to see steemit blossom in Nigeria and to Africa at large!
Thanks again!

You're more than welcome and glad to see you guys had such a great time :-)

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 11 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 5 SBD worth and should receive 92 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
