Neil Degrasse Tyson FLAT EARTH joke falls flat at WORLD GOVERNMENT SUMMIT in DUBAI 2018

Dubai News | Neil Degrasse Tyson attempted to make a joke while mentioning 'Flat Earth' at the World Government Summit in #Dubai on Feb 11th 2018. While the crowd laughed at his first joke "how do you get rid of a body" reference to Elon Musk and #Starman, his poor attempt at a second drew no reactions in the packed auditorium. Neil Degrasse Tyson is also said to be a few weeks away from debating Eric Dubay on Joe Rogans #JRE podcast this February.

"History shows that forecasting the future of space travel is hard, the astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said in a talk titled “The Future of Space Settlement.” Predictions have at times been too conservative and then too ambitious. The director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Centre for Earth and Space, Tyson said space missions need to have a defensive component or economic benefit. With economic returns often uncertain, space programmes have tended to be led by governments, because only they can invest in programmes that have a long-term pay-off, whether economic or geopolitical. When it comes to saving humanity from an asteroid impact, Tyson said rather than establishing colonies in space, we would be better to try to deflect the asteroid. And he praised the UAE's space programme, saying it echoed the technological advances seen in the Middle East during the golden age of science a millennium ago"
