‘They are children, what do they care about?’

This is what all the great men of the world were saying before taking seriously the children who took to the streets holding the flag of environmental protection and standing on the sidewalks. Not too old, just like last year. The children, who had just come out, started thinking independently. Trying to change the situation around us. Money, resources, the judiciary, the media, and most importantly, the groups that wield power, in order to bring about this change, have to develop better but uncontrolled development, even if nature and the environment are destroyed. The general public is not interested in understanding which way this development is going, because they are faced with issues that seem relatively important to them, such as livelihoods and living standards. We have become so accustomed to this dream of development that if we want to protect the environment beyond it, many insecurities come to our notice. This dream is given a more cute name because it is sustainable development. But what if this development is based on the future of the next generation? This is where the conflict between the two generations erupts. That spark is named Greta Thunberg.

Corona took two steps back in so-called development when a two-week global virtual climate conference of 350 young people was convened. Efforts are underway to accelerate the environmental movement in developing countries. The situation caused by the ‘Corona’ outbreak could be a small colorful rehearsal of the impending catastrophe caused by climate change. The possibility of the spread of infectious diseases cannot be ruled out if the surface temperature rises.
