FIO Demo Video and Upcoming AMA

in #fio4 years ago

At the end of last month we published an updated FIO demo video, and I forgot to share it here on Steem (though I did share it on Twitter). Check it out:

It's less than six minutes and will give you a feel for FIO addresses, FIO requests, and FIO data.

You can find out more about FIO here: https://fio.foundation/

As of December 1st, I've been the Managing Director for the Foundation for Interwallet Operability (FIO) which I intend to manage as Decentralized Autonomous Consortium (DAC) using the eosDAC software stack. As you may remember, I joined eosDAC back in April 2018. You can follow along with FIO on our Medium and our first Road to Mainnet series post Road to Mainnet: Looking Back and Pushing Forward.

We're also doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) this Thursday, February 13th:

Ask questions on Twitter, Telegram (or here on Steem) using the #FIOAMA hash tag.

We're still looking for block producers as mainnet launch is scheduled for right around the corner next month. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm a Witness! Please vote for @lukestokes.mhth

Don't worry @lukestokes We will just follow you on real social media and keep everything automated over here. Thanks for your work as a witness to keep the automation going

I sense some frustration at those who auto-vote my posts instead of manually engaging. Maybe discuss it with them directly? I don't control who votes for me or how they vote for me.

There's also a bit of passive aggressiveness as well. Say what you mean openly, and let's discuss actual solutions. I too am frustrated that Steem isn't seen as "real social media" because my real-world friends did not stay and are not here. How "social" is this place if the only responses are frustrated people? On Twitter and Facebook, people I know well respond, and we have great dialogue. For whatever reason, people I know have not been interested to make Steem a regular part of their social media experience.

As to "my work as a witness to keep the automation going..." That's just an empty troll statement. Be real. Be specific. What, from your perspective, am I doing to promote automation and what could I do differently? What can any of us do differently?

Maybe It's partly due to usability. I've tried just about every mobile Steem app as it comes out and they all feel clunky compared to the Twitter/Facebook experience. Granted, they don't have the millions and billions to spend on UX/UI improvements, but still... if the process is clunky, people won't do it on the fly as they go about their day.

The irony is that STEEM is an after thought even for Witnesses.

You aren't the first and you won't be the last.

It isn't about the fact that people auto vote you.

We all just see that the Witness voting is primarily a joke and the SPS is exactly what I predicted. It would just be an additional way for Witnesses to self feed themselves more. Most of us that submitted proposals obviously didn't get approved and funds just sit around instead of growing the place and engagement.

I have proposed solutions for advertising.....etc. I have proposed that the power down be taken to 3-7 days just for a security reason to notify users of a powerdown through e-mail....etc.

You aren't a bad guy @lukestokes and yeah the message was a little bit of a troll and I laughed about it. I have accepted that nothing that is posted here is something that can gain any sort of traction on real social media platforms. The curation setup is once again set up for people to just create content mills and just post cookie cutter content consistently and people dog pile on it for curation rewards.

The platform isn't set up to reward any sort of actual engagement or anything. That is how it has always been and it gets worse.

We have money and we know when to invest in crypto when the sky is falling and people are hiding in their closets eating gallons of ice cream and unfortunately STEEM isn't in the conversation when it isn't that hard to fix the issues.

A lot of us get no attention from those in power when we have the ability to actually improve the platform and change it from being an after thought to being something people are excited about.
