Hello dear Steemians. This time i came up with new serie about short films. As you know, I'm short filmmaker myself. I shot a lot of short film for my scholl and myself. The bad thing making short film is that you can't show them too many people. Many short films can't reach audience. Because of that, i want to make a serie about showing short films to you. I will show you 3 short films every week. That's gonna be one turkish film and two foreign film. Because especially in Turkey, short filmmakers need audience. We can't show our films to the world. 1) Ali Ata Bak
The short film director Orhan İnce, made two succeful short film in Turkey. ''Ali Ata Bak'' is one of them. It represent out education system. Because ''Ali Ata Bak'' is the first knowledge that students in Turkey have learned. This is fundemental of Turkish part of speech. The film showing us, few words that children memorize in their own innocent world cause the tragicomic situations created by the education system to emerge. We have very troubled education system. Orhan İnce is showing that with his own path.
2) Loop
In short films, the most important thing is making your idea simple. Because you have very short time to tell your story. The key for making short film is keep the time short. I can't do that my own short films. Mine is always 10+ munites. That's cuze of i'm still learning. Making short film story is harder than feautre film. So, Loop is very simple and short film. The director don't get lost in details. He has a idea. And he showed it with short time and directly. A man wakes up with covered blood and trying to find out why he is like that. Why a phone ringing ? There are many question in this film. Let's have a look.
3) This Is Vanity
This film is opposite from Loop. Its very long short film. I want to show it because of this is two different style in short film. Its about 22 min. And the story is actually a feature film story. But the director telling this long story in short film. This is a choice. There is no rule in short film section. But the most impartant thing that if you making long short movie, people can get bored. Because they are here for short film. But This Is Vanity is not get bored me. This is actually very dramatic and excited film. Film is the dark and tragic tale of a tiring mother who struggles to protect both herself and her disabled teenage daughter from the continual attacks of local adolescents. It has a lot of prize in film festivals. I will wait Oliver Goodrum's (the director) other films. He is very successful.
