The latest Movieland investigations from Detectives Dick Japowski and Joey Arizona.

The Arizona Case Files
In Which We Serve (1942)
Following the life of a destroyer from it's creation in the shipyard to it's sinking in battle, and the stories of then men who sailed her.
For a British war film made during war time it's pretty light on the propaganda front, there's a certain amount of stiff-upper-lipness about it, but there's also plenty of death and destruction and as many unhappy ending as happy ones.

Hyper Sapien: People from Another Star (1986)
Three intergalactic stowaways end up landing in Wyoming where they meet a young dirt biker named dirt. Then no one does a lot of much. As pointless a science fiction movie as you could get and even worse than the poster. To the nearest blackhole with this one.

The VHS Chronicles with Detective Dick Japowski
My blue heaven (1990)
Trailers: Rad, Rocky V, Going under, White hunter, Blackheart.
Rick Moranis plays an F.B.I agent who is tasked with keeping Steve Martin's mobster safe until he testifies. Easier said then done though, with this low life refusing to lie low.
Its a slim story and serves more as a comedic showcase for the two always watchable leads.
Rewatch: 3.5 Doughnuts

The Arizona Case Files
Face (1997)
Robert Carlyle, at the height of his fame, heads up a group of career criminals who pull off a job which isn't as rewarding as they hoped. When money starts going missing they start turning on each other.
Heists, double crosses, police shoot-outs, double crosses, police station heist shoot-outs, and a bit of Of Mice and Men thrown in. A great British crime movie before they all became a cross between Lock, Stock and The Football Factory.
Rewatch: 3.5 Doughnuts.

The Arizona Case Files
Ghost Stories (2017)
A British horror film..
A British anthology horror film...
A British anthology horror film with stories about individual experiences...
A British anthology horror film where those stories actually have an effect on the narrative setting them up...
A British anthology horror with a satisfying ending.

Coneheads (1993)
Crash landing on Earth, Beldar and his wife do their best to blend in with us earthlings, and by earthlings I mean a who's who of comedic superstars of the time!
Dan Aykroyd is known for his offbeat sense of humour and normally I can appreciate it but the pointy head gag only goes so far with me. It has its moments but not enough to fully recommend.
Rewatch: 2.5 Doughnuts
