Plot

When Jess, on the way to the port, runs over a seagull, he does not imagine that it is a bad omen. When she arrives at the yacht, where a group of friends is waiting for her, she notices that there is something wrong, but she does not know what. Their fears increase when a storm that forces the group to leave the yacht to get on another boat, in which Jess has the feeling of having been before.

Opinion

The plot of the film takes us aboard the yacht in which six young people decide to have a good time. Once far from the coast they will face a mysterious storm that will overturn the boat, putting them in a difficult situation. One of the girls has disappeared and the rest wait to be rescued, a possibility that occurs when from the horizon appears a huge transatlantic to which they climb. There seems to be no one in the gigantic ship, but soon strange things begin to happen.

The plot runs without hurry, the environment slowly oppresses the viewer by letting him know that something is not right. As the film passes, the story becomes more interesting, the doubts are more solid, the rhythm grows and takes us directly to the end, leaving us wanting to see a little more.

The best thing about the film is that it meets one of the main objectives: to entertain. Although in this case is with some small plot flaws, and forgetting a bit of the direction of actors, that with the exception of Melissa George, the rest does not do the best job.

The movie has a good start but at a certain moment it becomes a little repetitive, something that can annoy some, with a little patience we can understand that the constant reiterations allow to have a more elaborate explanation and with a better finish.

Despite its failures, I find it a very entertaining and 100% recommended film for fans of unusual movies provided they do not have excessive demands. I do not consider it as good as many say, nor as bad as others say. I will leave this here because I do not have much more to say about it without making a spoiler.

Score

6/10

I did not think to find this movie in this year, but I saw it, and it seems good, with little did much, and the plot, although a little crazy, is well used and put at the service of entertainment, without great effects or great expectations kept me attentive.

Sort:

I too have mixed feeling about it although I only saw it once few years ago. The part that kept me interested was the loop. There wasn't much to see in terms of film making for me. If there was some point where the loop gets broken, that would have been seriously interesting.

Yes, the movie is a bit inconsistent. By the way, excellent link you have left me, that is a very good explanation about the movie.
