مطالب بتغيير نظام انتخاب رئيس الفيفا

الاتحادات ترغب في أن تكون رئاسة الفيفا دورية، حيث يتولى منصب الرئيس شخص مختلف في كل عام يمثل في كل مرة أحد الاتحادات القارية الستة.

واختير الرئيس الحالي للفيفا من خلال كونجرس الاتحاد لمدة أربع سنوات، ويتم التصويت على اختياره من قبل ممثلي الاتحادات المحلية الأعضاء.

وأعلن الرئيس الحالي للفيفا، السويسري جياني إنفانتينو، عن نيته في الترشح لفترة رئاسة ثانية في يونيو 2019، ويستطيع رئيس الفيفا البقاء في منصبه طوال 3 دورات كحد أقصى.

ومن أجل إدخال تعديلات على لوائح الفيفا وعلى عملية الانتخابات فذلك يتطلب موافقة أغلبية استثنائية (75 بالمئة من الأعضاء)، وهو الأمر الذي يصعب تحقيقه علما بأن إنفانتينو يحظى بدعم أمريكا الجنوبية وجزء كبير من أفريقيا بالإضافة إلى اتحادات إقليمية أخرى.

              Demands to change the election system of the FIFA president

The federations want the FIFA presidency to be periodic, with the president holding a different person each year representing each of the six continental unions.

The current President of FIFA was elected through the Congress of the Union for a term of four years, and was voted on by the representatives of the local member associations.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced his intention to run for a second term in June 2019. The FIFA president can stay in office for a maximum of three sessions.

In order to make amendments to the FIFA regulations and to the election process, it requires the approval of an exceptional majority (75 per cent of members), which is difficult to achieve, with the support of South America and a large part of Africa as well as other regional associations
