Inhumans Episode 5: 'Something Inhuman This Way Comes' Review

And here I was, after last week's episode, thinking, "Oh, Inhumans is doing slightly better now", only for this week's episode to throw it all out of the water. 'Something Inhuman his way comes' was as lackluster as ever,with grossly uncompelling emoional scenes and unbelievable motives and responses. At least one hing has been made clear to the audience: Black Bolt and the Royal family are meant to be misunderstood by us. This comes after weeks of us asking if we're actually supposed to feel pity for the family which, by all accounts, lives in lavish while their subjects are forced into labour and suffering. As Locus put it to Black Bolt and Medusa: "You make it sound like there's no choice in how you oversee the law... this isn't any different from how the royal family treats us." Even Medusa's new bff Louise is doubtful. After this altercation though, Medusa says confidentiality to Black Bolt: "They don't understand because you have been so guarded for so long. Maybe it's time everyone knows you like I do", implying that the King does have a plan he hasn't shared with anyone but his wife.
The rest of the episode is barely memorable. Scratch that --Not at all memorable. Yay for Karnak, he's getting his abilities back, but did his farm girl girlfriend really just dump him so she can make a call? Lame. Gorgon finally does what he should have done from the very beginning and tracks down Karnak. Locus helps the King and Queen find them both, leading to the long awaited Royal Family Reunion. And yet, that scene, which should have been heartwarming and even heartbreaking after Locus dies unceremoniously while telling Black Bolt to be the king they deserve, makes us feel nothing at all. And, lastly, come on! Do they really expect us to believe Crystal responds to 'hang loose' while desperately sarhing for her family?
