Nova Colony
The sun was going down and still there was no sign of them, its been almost six hours since they left and Angie was getting worried, the forest is scary in the dark and when the light goes out it is said that strange things happen in there, Tim the group leader decided to organize a search party for them and all were in agreement. They took all the gear that they needed and headed out. As they approach the edge of the forest they heard a large bang and everybody ran back in fear except Ramana. He was the quiet one in the group. He wasn’t scared and was even more curious of what that was and he dashed straight into the forest following the smoke.
Ramana had been in the military and after his duty in the northern land he chose to quit. The experience had given him a hard skin and a desire for adventure and this was the perfect opportunity. He came to a crash sight of a ship that was carrying what seem like refugees and on keen inspection he found that were chained, he was curious why such an inhuman treatment of this people. They were prisoners been transported to a mining colony deep into the Nova galaxy. He detained the pilot and took the prisoners to camp; the missing members were among the prisoners and this made everyone curious of what was happening. There were rumors that people were disappearing and ending up and slaves and this was further proof of it. The pilot was almost beaten but Angie stopped them because she was a just woman and wanted to hear the pilot story.
The report reached the authorities and it opened up speculation of a racketeering of smugglers and big corp who were using innocent people as slaves for their mining work. Ramana organized a rescue mission for the miners trapped in various part of the galaxy, he was looking for a purpose in life and he had found one. He recruited his former colleges and with the help of well wisher bought a cruiser for the mission. A cruiser was one of the biggest and most sophisticated ship that can travel at warp speed across the deep space. Acquiring weapons was not a hard thing since he was in the military and they were off to Gera, this was an isolated area within the rakan meteor belt that had rich resources and mineral. Ramana and the crew knew the risk, they would face opposition from big corps since they earned a lot of money from this belt and were exploiting people to make big profits.
The plan was set and the first raid was successful, 5000 people were rescued and the stories of horror at the mining colonies made news, the big corps tried to cover the damaging report but the more Ramana and his team succeeded the more it became hard to hide. The liberated people took over the colonies and decided they will mine the resources themselves and sell taking all the profits. The big mining companies met and decided it was time to stop this and placed a bounty on the head of any person trying to liberate the colonies. The bounty was so big that all the pirates that were hiding from authority came out to hunt the liberators risking everything since they knew all they need was just one score and they were rich. This was going to escalate thing since the pirates would shoot anything that looked like a rescuer ship just to make a score. Ramana also recruited more of the retired military personnel and with the support and the funding from the liberated mining colonies took the battle head on
