P-P-Pete - A motivational story for young and old - Part 2

in #fiction6 years ago

"Right, you kids, start walking," the robber said angrily. "And once we're outside, you don't look left or right. You just walk straight to the red car. It's parked beside the pavement. You get into the back and don't try anything funny!"

Pete began to walk. As he walked past the bank's doors, he repeatedly said to himself "It would be all right!" As soon as they reached outside, the police rescue them - it was all he could think of to try and keep calm in such a horrible situation. He tried not to move his head too much but in the bright sunlight, stood a line of policemen with their guns ready.

"Hold your fire! Hold your fire" shouted the police sergeant.

There was nothing they could do. Annie and Pete were used as human shields all the way to the red car and a third robber sat waiting anxiously inside. Annie tried not to cry but couldn't keep it together as she slid behind Pete into the backseat of the car.

"D-d-don't w-w-worry Annie. W-w-we'll be o-o-okay" stuttered Pete, but Annie wasn't interested. The driver took off in a hurry and the deafening sound of tyres squealing was all she could focus on. Pete on the other hand, thought about the police and he was hopeful that they would be able to rescue them. He could hear the sirens as they were being followed so he was as positive as a boy could be in a situation like that.

Weaving through the city traffic, taking sharp turns and listening to the sound of the tyres, Pete's stomach started to turn. He felt nauseous and had to keep it in. He could not risk what would happen to the both of them if he was to make a mess inside the car.

"I think you've lost them!" shouted the robber in the passenger seat.

That didn't sound good. As Pete turned his head to peek through the back window, his heart sunk as he couldn't see any police cars in sight. The buildings around them didn't look familiar and after quite a while, the only thing that was left to see was dust - farmlands and dirt roads.

And then they stopped

"You two, out!" said one of the robbers. "Good luck finding your way home."

"Are you nuts?" asked other robber asked. "I'll get rid of them. Hide the car!"

Next to the road stood an old ramshackle house. Annie wept as the robber took her and Pete to the back of the house and pushed them into a doorway. They walked through a long passageway where Pete noticed an old telephone along the way. Perhaps he could get a chance later to find out if it's working.

To their right, they were shoved into a small room. There was only one small window but it was covered with burglar bars. Once they were inside, the robber removed his balaclava, exposing his face.

I like your stories. 💟 I look forward to see the continuation.

If it were StarWars Episode V, it would be the perfect moment for Pete to shout in disbelief, upon seeing the robber’s face: “Dad?!!”
“Yes, boy. I am your father.

Haha! I see where you're going with this. Would have been cool, though!
