Father's First

in #father8 years ago

I had to tap my daughter's hand one time, with 2 fingers the other day for constantly trying her best to hurt herself, and she looked at me so confused... Then once she saw a frown on my face she immediately poked her lip out then just bust out crying so I started feeling like a monster.... Then to make matters worst I look over at Tina and she's pulling her journal out and writing something down, then she takes a picture. So I ask her what she's doing and she tells me that she just documented the day and time of my daughter's first whooping... I'm still debating if I want to call child protective services on myself or not.

Awww thats so sweet!

Lol. As a first time father, I never thought discipline would be one of the most difficult task of fatherhood.

Well done it's hard but has to be done. Many Dads still shy away from this. I guess you know by now how everyone's kid is "perfect", (everyone's kid sleeps through the night except yours!) it makes you wonder whose kid is the bully in school? My point is be true to yourself never feel the need to judge yourself by others. I am still wondering why parents feel the need to pit their kids against other kids to feel good. In reality there are great and not so great days of the parenting experience. I rather we support each other with the truth about how challenging it can be. This way new Parent would not feel they did something wrong.
