Young at Heart; The Youthful Dreamer

It is never quite evident to me what the meaning of a photo is when I initially take it. But when I reflect on it, work with the feelings of it, the meaning becomes unmasked; unraveled. Working with older models is something quite new to me. When I first started, I probably would have said no since I truly favored the "young" and the "tall." But since meeting Harold via Instagram, I really got to know his cheerful disposition. The industries of the world are in favor of the "new" and "re-imagined." The irony is, sometimes with age we hold much more value if we cultivate ourselves with the time we have here.

For me, I always wanted to focus on the soul. It's not so much the outer appearance, but the inner that strikes my fancy. Appearances help in such a visual world such as Fashion and Photography. But for the work I wish to create, it must have a deeper meaning and hold the value of the soul.

Upon deeper analysis of these photos, it reminded me of how asleep people can be. How the world tarnishes our youthful outlook, our dreams, our hopes. Most people fall pray to the illusions of the world and forget what they came here to accomplish. They are overwhelmed by their life, their jobs, their bills, their responsibilities - which leaves little to no room for their dreams to grow and flourish - their true purpose that resides deep within their souls, is never yet realized and discovered.

Time is so short. I don't need to live till 80 to realize that. I'm not the best keeper of my time, but I try to always move forward, to keep creating, to keep accomplishing, to keep holding on and staying youthful to my soul's purpose. I think that's what keeps a person young. The years of age are nothing but a number. It is the amount of life well lived that count; that either keep us youthful, or aged and ill. It is our choice of every minute, of everyday, that we must choose to ignore the distractions of the world and hold tightly to the wheel of life or to let it slip right past us and ignore our true purpose - our creations that the world will unfortunately never benefit from.
