Couples just don't fall in love and after a few years of relationship challenges they quit. Relationship is hard work, no two individual is alike. There is compatibility but there is also difference on point of views. And it gets harder when you are raising children.

This week, my co worker decided to foster a child. A six month old who have a short gut syndrome. This baby is born with short small intestines, she cannot absorb the necessary nutrients needed by her body to grow. Thus she will be receiving nutrients through intravenous (through the vein)method. She also has a feeding tube on her stomach which she can be fed by milk but since she has a problem with malabsorption, milk is not enough. She is on the bowel transplant lists and God's knows when is that going to be.Thus, she is a special need baby.

My colleague has two young kids of her own( a toddler and an infant) and with addition of another one with special needs it is going to be challenging. For sure, everybody is going to adjust with a new baby in their household, taking the baby to appointments and dealing with biological parents, if the court approves
them to visit the baby. And later on, it is hard to get detached emotionally and psychologically if you raise a child and be taken away from you. So hats off to my co worker for doing this.

It just proves that no matter how the world is getting cruel, there are still people who have good hearts.

Steem on!

What a story. My wife and I and very fortunate to have healthy children. It truly is amazing to see how some people are willing to take of others when they are not even blood related. Heck honestly I have days where I wish I was totally alone. By the way cradling my toddler while on steemit :p

Children are blessings! I feel you on raising the little one. Toddler is a fun stage after all.
