Maryland State To Force Homeschoolers To Agree To Warrantless Home Searches! Where Are Our Rights?
With the disguise that this will "prevent child abuse", lawmakers in Maryland have introduced a bill that will allow state enforcement to intrude the lives of innocent families and keep records of them, which ultimately destroys their right to privacy.
The outline of the bill goes as follows:
This bill would require parents to annually inform their county school boards of their homeschool child’s primary instructor and of the primary location where homeschooling is taking place each year. Furthermore, in order to legally homeschool in the state of Maryland, parents would be required to allow a representative of the county board to observe instruction at the family’s primary homeschooling location at least twice a year. Finally, this bill would require county school board employees who observe a family’s instruction and who believe a homeschool child has been subjected to abuse or neglect to report their suspicion to the proper authorities. Justification?
This bill is very similar to the one proposed in the State of California last month. It was a reaction to a horrific scene that was publicized in mainstream media.
Davildand Louise Turpin are a couple that are facing 12 counts of torture after police discovered that their 13 children were all heavily malnourished and forced to stay chained to their beds. Other forms of torture have also been endured by these children for multiple years.
Because They Were Registered Homeschoolers, The State Is Now Blaming All Homeschoolers!
Our police state government is demonizing parents who choose to bring up their children without assistance from the state.
When questioned about why the bill was proposed, HB 1798's cosponsor, Delegate Frank Turner said it was a response to "recent news about homeschoolers". It is obvious he is exploiting this strategy to push heavier government control.
California Has Set The Example
The Free Thought Project reported this last month. Lawmakers in California are heavily pushing for families who homeschool their children to be subject to involuntary home visit from state employees.
This is treating these parents with the same surveillance and oversight that would be subjected to parents who have abused their children. Maryland found their role model.
CPS Is Involved
These new regulations will include forced meetings with child protective services and other government agencies.
This will cause homeschooling parents to have a constant burden to prove to the government that they are fit parents for their children.
The parameters will not be what you and I would judge as good parents, it will be according to the state's guidelines.
It disgusts me that the state will now require your children to be inspected by them to prove you are not guilty of child abuse!
Washington Examiner reported, if this continues and becomes law, it would “reduce the valid legal option of homeschooling from a fundamental parental right, to direct the education and school choice for children, to compelled consent to government intrusion upon the sanctity and privacy of the home and school choice.”
At this time, about 3.4% of children aged 5 - 17 are homeschooled in the US. Studies have showed that homeschooled children usually outperform their peers from both private and public schools.

The lengths that some States are going to now to shut down homeschooling is incredible! Homeschooling is NOT equal to child abuse.

This particular article brings to mind one of Ben Shapiro's videos, "Hard Cases Make Bad Law" and is a huge example of why he's right about that. One "hard case" goes viral in the media and politicians' knee jerk reaction is to throw everyone's rights out the window just so they look like they're "doing something about it." And it's infuriating because during the recent teacher walkout here, people were complaining about how kids who were "not being fed" and "abused at home" needed to be at school to be taken care of. But homeschoolers are the problem? Huh?!
This must stop! The lengths our government is going to oppress us is truly understated! We must gain our freedom somehow!
This post made me sick to my stomach. This is just another way for them to intrude, accuse, feel on and look at our children and invade our privacy.
To be honest there is a lot of abuse that goes on in the public school and not all teachers “there” are innocent. When I was in high school one of my teachers was caught with a student (the same grade as me) doing inappropriate things with her. I say this because abuse doesn’t just happen in homes. As Linda stated above, homeschooling does not not equal child abuse. The government is trying to put homeschoolers all under one roof of abusers and that’s just not right. This bill needs to be shut down and locked up! We’ll teach underground before I let them in our home.

Really, this is unlawful and abusive! I disagree with them! We can teach children well in the study and we will also learn from them and understand our kids. Heart to heart conversation and understanding this is one of the advantages of homeschooling.
My eldest son is on homeschooling, and I see his progress how smart he is.
I do not really understand and fully understand the course of the government's brain in the country against homeschooling.
Not all parents abuse their children. In the Australia country, children abuse the parents and hurt them! When you strike your child in Australia, the child has the right to call the police and arrest you! That law is wrong! First of all, It is against God's law.
So there is God's command for parents if you are a true Christian who reads the Bible. And Commandments for Children! Listen and read it!

Homeschooling probably induces child abuse? Sending armed police with armour, batons, guns and shields just to protect children and free them from child abuse? What logic is that? This is absolutely wicked!
I don't live in the states, but those greedy and selfish 'lawmakers' at the political pinnacle, with low moral standards, are making this country sick and evil.

There are some states with much better laws. Alaska for example has a very good home school support system. It probably has the highest rate of home schooling in the US. If you are unable to fight the legislation locally, you can always move to a place of greater freedom. It may seem to be a big sacrifice, but in the long run it's small price to pay to protect your children from an overbearing state who would gladly kidnap your children and give them to strangers.
That is a great statistic that I should have added! I too believe personal freedom is more important than "staying where I grew up".

There is no fixing what isn't even broken, they are attempting to do exactly what was intended from the very beginning of their fraudulent operation, and the only answer is to completely Remove All Consent from the system which begins with your parents registering (SEE REGIS) you as a posession of the corporate 'state', perhaps unwittingly, at birth.
They are not going to stop this abuse of humanity on their own, they need to have all of their percieved authority removed at every level by the the people.
I suggest everyone research, if you haven't, the Prussian Origins of The USA Public School System. Probably most homeschool families already have that sussed, and this is part of why they homeschool in the first place.
