Exchange Transfer Report: 7/16/2017 to 7/22/2017
Whoops! I forgot to run this report this past weekend. I was looking over my blog and noticed something wasn't right... it completely slipped my mind to run my weekly report! Sorry to those who missed it. Declining payout but I'll leave a comment if you still found this useful and want to vote up the comment.
I added @openledger-dex to join their numbers with @openledger.
USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Poloniex (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily average which came out to:
- STEEM: $1.26296
- SBD: $0.99672

Assumptions
Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Commentary
The withdrawal to deposit ratio is creeping up a bit at 5.60 to 1.
$600k outbound this week compared to $500k last week.
Skipping the powerdown screenshot this week because I didn't run it on the weekend.

@Upvoted. I am still learning a lot of Steemit parameters so it is safe to say that I do not understand the significance of many things in this report. The ratio of withdrawals to deposits going up - does that indicate that people are powering down and taking money out of Steemit? I thought it is best if all Steemians stayed invested and empowered the platform by powering up when there is uncertainty in the market? I would be obliged if you provide your views for my guidance whenever you have time.
Update at my end - I am traveling and so have very spotty internet connections. Still - wanted to share my thoughts about one of my photos with Steemians so I have posted a blog 'War and Peace: Iron birds' with my original photo and musings. Yes, if the ratio goes up it means more individual accounts are transferring money off the platform to exchanges. That doesn't necessarily mean more money or anything else. It's also possible that one person owns many accounts (which we know to be the case in some situations) so it could also be a false indicator if we think of it in terms of "people" instead of "accounts."
Better late than never. The reason this is important, is you never know 6 months or a year from now when someone wants to come back looking for this information.

Enlightening, so much math going I can't keep up with the number. Such effort to pull these info.
I really don't know what to make of the withdrawal-deposit ratio. On one hand, it's good that the playing field is becoming more leveled, while one the other, it might cause other people to jump ship as well. I'm just hopeful that STEEM will power through these turbulent times.

Interestingly, withdraw from deposits became less. Confidence has increased, or is it related to a drop in the price of Steем?
