The Enigma was compromised: Ethereum coins of $ 500,000 were stolen
Enigma, a decentralized platform for investment, has been the victim of hackers. Surprisingly, the platform was not really hacked, and the founder's e-mail and password were stolen. And this led to full control of the platform and the Google Account. Site access was temporarily suspended.
False emails
Once hackers had access to the company's website, they sent messages to over 9,000 users.
They changed the website with their BTC and ETH portfolios and sent out bogus emails asking consumers to send money.
Hackers gathered 1,492 coins of Ethereum. Enigma said they would not raise money this way before the planned ICO next month.
Enigma regained control of the website and said the token sale site was not affected. The company also announced that they have introduced new security measures: more secure passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA) for all employee email accounts.
Enigma's reaction was a bit late, especially for a company that boasts security and data security.
