Short Meditations on Vanity & Ego

Funny how vanity, in fretting over appearances, renders us the butt of the joke.

Our ego does not return the care we lavish upon it; eventually, it will always betray us.

Ego: a proud and choosy beggar.

Flatterers like to be flattered— flattery is their way of letting you know it.

Vanity never blushes.

Ego is good but it's bad when it makes us proud.. We all know all things are vanity for the souls of man is mortal!

I agree that a 'healthy' ego is good to have... But, as with all things, balance is key. Thanks, for reading and good luck with your poetry.
