The Butcher Shop ........from a By-Gone Era.
This replica of a typical Butcher Shop from the early 1900's is situated at The Caboolture Heritage Village in Queensland, Australia.
This fascinating Village takes us back a few decades when life went at a different pace, but work was a lot more challenging than it is today because of the advantages of all our modern conveniences we often take for granted.
The Caboolture Heritage Village comprises of many shops, cottages and workplaces depicting how things were in a By-Gone Era. Visitors can enter a General store of yesteryear, the old Caboolture hospital, the Railway Station and most of these buildings were moved here from various sites within the Caboolture area, but today we are visiting the Old Butcher Shop.
If you'd like to view my post of the Police Museum from the village, click here:
A model wearing a typical butchers apron stands before a massive and very solid, wooden chopping block.
Here is a set of scales used to weigh meat. They are believed to date back to 1905 according to the information below.
This meat grinder looks as though it could still do a very effective job of grinding offal.
I can imagine that butchers from this era would be horrified at the price of meat these days. It has become a luxury item for many people in Australia due to either droughts or floods and it makes many of us realize what a tough job it is for farmers in the outback of Australia to make a decent living when faced with natural disasters such as these.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
Thank you @pixresteemer
My great grandfather was a small town butcher in the late 1800's. I imagine his shop may have looked similar to this.
Oh! really, that sounds interesting. In those days people used to stay in the same jobs all through their working career.
He owned a butcher shop his entire life. The building where his shop was is now a garage. I have some of the old ledger books that he used to keep track of people's accounts. They are packed away and I haven't looked at them in years.

That chopping block is awesome! Never seen a big and heavy wooden block like this here.
The extreme weather in that part of the world makes me wonder how people could be so patient and enduring all the uncertainty.

The farmers here in Australia work very hard and deserve all the money they get considering such diverse working conditions in some parts of the country they have to endure. Some of the farms have been handed down from generation to generation.
